How often should small businesses post on social media?

The real answer is it depends.

If you're doing it yourself, the most important thing is figuring out what you can actually keep up with. Posting five days a week for two weeks and then disappearing for a month is worse than posting twice a week every single week. So before you even think about a number, think about what's realistic for you.

If you're working with an agency that's a different conversation because consistency is built into what they do.

What we always come back to is this. The goal isn't hitting a certain number of posts. The goal is showing up enough that people start to look for you. They see your content, they engage, they feel like they're part of something. That's what builds community and that's really what social media is for.

The other thing worth knowing is that your posting schedule doesn't have to be the same every month. If you have a launch coming up or an event you're promoting, it makes sense to show up more during that window. On a regular week when things are steady, you don't need to force it.

There's no magic number. There's just being consistent, being visible, and showing up in a way that actually works for your business.

What does a social media manager do?

We hear this a lot. Someone's son, daughter, neighbor's kid, or a recent grad is handling their social media because they're young and they "know social media." And we get it, it seems like a logical choice.

But a social media manager does a lot more than post.

Here's something most business owners don't think about until it's too late. When someone is considering hiring you, one of the first things they do is look you up. They check your website and they check your social media. If they land on a page that looks inconsistent, random, or just thrown together, it affects how they see you before you've even had a chance to talk to them. And the opposite is also true. If they see a page that looks intentional, consistent, and active, that builds trust before you've said a word.

Your social media is a window into who you are and what you represent. Are you proud of the way you're showing up right now?

A real social media manager is running everything behind that. They're not posting on a whim or because something popped into their head. There's a strategy behind every post. They know what they're posting, when they're posting it, and why. They're creating content that actually sounds like you. They're making sure your account is healthy, that your followers are real people and not bots, and they're engaging with your community and growing it the right way.

Someone's kid might be great at TikTok. That doesn't mean they should be running the social media presence of your business. There's a difference between being on social media and knowing how to use it to grow something.

How long does it take to see results from social media?

The answer starts before we ever post anything.

When we first take over a client's account, we don't just start posting on day one. The first thing we do is look at where the account is, what's there, and what needs some cleaning up. From there we build the strategy, create the content, get the schedule in place, and start engaging. That whole phase takes about 30 to 45 days. So the actual posting starts after that.

Once we're up and running, we do start seeing movement pretty quickly. But how fast things grow also depends on where the account is when we take it over. An account that already has a few thousand followers and some history behind it is going to pick up differently than a brand new account starting from zero. Both can grow, it just looks different in the beginning.

What we tell every client is that by month three or four you're going to have a really clear picture of where things are headed. You'll see the engagement building, the community growing, and the content finding its rhythm. And the thing we love about what we do is that it doesn't stop there. We have clients we've been working with for a year, two years, and they're still growing month after month. There's no point where you just plateau and that's it. If you keep showing up the right way, you keep seeing results.

How do agreements work?

We work with clear agreements so we can fully support your growth. Once you reach out, we'll work out the details together based on the package that fits best, with no surprises.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

We work with agreements, not month-to-month arrangements, because social media takes time to build and we want to be able to do the work properly. That said, we're not in the business of locking people in. Agreement length is something we talk through once you reach out, based on your goals and the package you choose.

What we can tell you is that we've never had a client want to leave because the work wasn't working. If something isn't right, we fix it. That's how we operate.

What happens if I want to cancel?

We handle offboarding professionally. If you decide to move on, we make sure your accounts, content, and strategy notes are handed back to you cleanly. You own everything we've created together.

We ask that clients honor the terms of their agreement, which we walk through before anything is signed. No fine print, no surprises.

What's included in the discovery call?

It's exactly what it sounds like.

We get on a call and learn about your business. What are your goals? What's not working right now? What are you struggling with? What feels like the biggest challenge when it comes to showing up online?

We ask all of that because we want to understand where you are before we ever talk about what we do. There's no pitch waiting at the end of the call. It's just a real conversation.

And it goes both ways. We're figuring out if we're a good fit for your business and you're figuring out if we're a good fit for you. Not every business is the right fit for what we do and we'd rather know that on a 30 minute call than have either of us find out later.

You'll leave the call with clarity either way.

To start, just fill out the inquiry form. Beth reviews every one personally and gets back to you soon with the next step.

Do I have to be local to South Florida to work with you?

No. While we’re based in South Florida and love supporting local businesses, we also work virtually with clients nationwide.

Content & strategy

Will the content actually sound like me?

Yes and here's how we make sure of that.

Before we write a single caption we look at everything. Your website, any content you've posted before, anything you've shared that you actually liked. We're trying to understand how you talk, what you care about, and how you want to come across before we ever put words in your mouth.

Nothing goes live without your approval. Ever. And even after something gets approved and posted, if you read it back and something feels off, that's okay too. We fix it. It sometimes takes a couple of weeks to really dial in your voice and that's completely normal. Getting it right matters more to us than getting it out fast.

What we will say is that it works best when it's a real back and forth. We send you content, you give us feedback, real feedback, and in a timely way so we can make adjustments and keep things moving. The more you tell us what you love and what doesn't feel like you, the faster we get it exactly right.

It's a collaboration. And we take that seriously.

What platforms do you manage?

We focus on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, but can also support other platforms when it makes sense for your business. Platform recommendations are part of your custom strategy and are based on where your target audience actually is.

I keep hearing about AI changing Google Search. Should I be worried about how people find my business?

It's worth paying attention to. Google just made the biggest change to Search in over 25 years. Instead of sending people to websites, it's now answering questions directly with AI. For businesses that have been counting on Google traffic, that shift is already starting to matter.

Here's the real picture: if your visibility depends on people clicking through from search results, that traffic is going to get harder to count on.

But if you've been building a real presence on social, you're in a better position than most. People who follow you don't need Google to find you. They already know you're there. That's the kind of trust social media builds when it's done consistently, and it's one of the few things that doesn't get wiped out every time a platform changes its rules.

Do I need to provide the photos and videos?

It depends on the package. Some packages include content direction and design; our Bloom package includes quarterly production shoots. We can also guide you on creating simple content yourself, or offer a content shoot add-on.

How often will you post?

Posting frequency is based on your package and strategy. We focus on quality over quantity. Consistent, strategic posts outperform daily random content every time. Cadence is something we work through together during discovery, before you sign anything, so the plan we build actually fits your business before anything gets posted.

Results

How will I know if it's working?

There are two parts to this answer and both matter.

The first part is the analytics. Every package includes reporting and we look at the numbers that actually tell us something: reach, profile visits, saves, shares, and engagement. But we also go beyond the app and ask you directly. Are you getting more inquiries? Has your website traffic gone up? Are people mentioning they found you on social? Is there more foot traffic than there was a few months ago? Those real world signals matter just as much as what's happening inside Instagram.

The second part is something we're always upfront about with clients. What we do is not sales. It's not sales and marketing. What we do is create awareness, exposure, and community around your business. Our job is to get people interested enough in what you do that they show up at your door, visit your website, or reach out to learn more.

What happens after that is on you.

If someone finds you through social media, walks into your business, or hires you for something, and the product isn't good or the experience doesn't deliver, that's not something we can fix from an Instagram account. No amount of great content is going to turn a bad experience into a repeat client.

We say this not to be harsh but because it's important to understand what social media actually does. It opens the door. It builds the trust that makes someone want to try you. But you have to be ready to deliver when they do. When both sides are working, that's when you really see the business grow.
